Resilient Pup Overcomes Horrific Hoarding Nightmare, Now Seeks Forever Home

Ryley is one tough cookie who has overcome a heartbreaking start to life. The young adult lab mix was rescued in November 2023 from a horrific hoarding and illegal breeding situation.
A Heartbreaking Rescue
“Ryley was underweight, heartworm positive, and had clearly been severely abused when she came to us,” said Krystle Carrara, Board Chair of Marketing and Development at the rescue organization. “She was extremely shut down and fearful of men, leading us to believe her abuser was male.”
A Blossoming Personality
Despite her troubled past, Ryley’s sunny personality has blossomed under the care of her devoted foster family. After months of regaining her confidence, she has morphed into a goofy, loving pup who adores the outdoors.
“Ryley loves being outside, whether hiking in the woods or romping on the beach,” Carrara said. “She’s built up trust again and her silly, playful side has emerged. She’s an absolute sweetheart.”
Ready for Her Second Chance
The 40-pound pup has completed heartworm treatment and is ready for her forever home. Her rescuers say she needs to live with another confident dog, no cats, and older kids only in her new family.
“She’s been through so much, but hasn’t let it break her spirit,” Carrara said. “Ryley just wants to be loved. She deserves a safe, calm home to call her own after everything she’s overcome.”
Ryley is currently being cared for by a temporary foster family in Roswell Georgia and patiently awaiting her second chance at happiness.
