PETITION: Three Dogs Dead, 17 More Starving. Ban These Negligent Individuals From Owning Animals Again.

Authorities Uncover “Deplorable” Animal Neglect in Putnam County, West Virginia
In a disturbing case of animal neglect in Putnam County, West Virginia, authorities have found 20 dogs in severe distress on a property where they were reportedly starved and neglected. Sheriff Bobby Eggleton described the conditions as “deplorable.” Three of the dogs were beyond saving—two were found dead on-site, and a third died while being transported to safety.
When deputies arrived, they observed the dogs suffering from extreme malnourishment and lethargy. The only visible food source was a deer carcass hanging in a barn, underscoring the level of neglect these animals endured. The property also housed an illegally possessed firearm, raising additional concerns about the disregard for animal welfare and legal compliance.

The two individuals responsible for the animals are now facing criminal charges. Animal advocates are calling for stronger preventative measures, urging West Virginia officials to enforce a lifetime ban on animal ownership for those involved in this case to prevent further neglect.
A petition has been launched, requesting that West Virginia authorities permanently prohibit these individuals from owning or working with animals, ensuring protection for vulnerable animals in the future.
