1. Figge: 1-year-old Brittany Spaniel
Figge pronounced FIG. Also affectionately known as Figge Newton. Figge is a 1 1/2-year-old, 45-pound, orange and white, neutered, purebred Brittany with a long tail. His young spirit requires an active family that will meet his high energy, desire to exercise, and love for fun. Figge is squirrel-obsessed! Chase them, dart after them, and even clear a 5-foot fence if he has the chance. Figge’s yard MUST BE a 6ft fence, iron, cinder block, or a townhome with no fence would be preferred. This youngster is very athletic and most certainly will keep you on your toes! But, what young Brittany doesn’t? What does this mean? Figge needs lots of exercise and someone committed to his future training.
After his physical needs are met, he is Mr. Chill. He is one of the mushiest Britts you will ever meet. Figge is extremely affectionate and loves everyone. He is happy to sit on the couch with you while you read, lay in bed, and watch Netflix, or just cuddle. He adores the teenagers in his foster family and would love kids of his own, who are older and considerate. His spunky nature could easily knock over a young child, so the preference is 10 years and up. Figge is such a good boy! Learn More

3. Tupac: 6-year-old Rottweiler
Tupac’s journey is nothing short of remarkable. Rescued from a county shelter’s euthanasia list, this shy Rottweiler was spared from an untimely fate simply because he was scared and limping on his back leg. After an evaluation by a veterinarian and specialist, it was determined that Tupac had only pulled a muscle—a minor injury that is already showing signs of improvement.
Tupac’s personality is as unique as his name. When he’s around other dogs, he’s confident and outgoing. Without them, however, he becomes a reserved and cautious boy, hesitant to approach new people. For this reason, his adopters must already have another dog or be willing to adopt two dogs from the rescue. Having a canine companion is essential for Tupac to feel secure and flourish in his new home. Learn More

11. Howard: 3-year-old German Shepherd
Howard was born about December 18, 2021, and he will likely top out at about 85 lbs. He appears to be and is said to be purebred from a breeder in PA named Bonnie Lee, who is easily found on Facebook. Howard is here along with three other dogs as a local, young, single mom who has left an abusive relationship and is on a mission to keep her kids and herself safe. It was just that much more difficult with four dogs, as I feel most of us can imagine.
When Howard arrived here he was rather protective of his human who was turning all the dogs over to us which was very stressful for everyone involved. After a few hours, he decided the new humans in his life weren’t too bad and he’s been very good with everyone he’s met. So, we want to be sure any potential adopter knows that he does have a normal GSD protective side and this breed of dog is not for everyone. Howard is said to be better than women than men as his puppyhood was spent with a verbally abusive man. Learn More
