Senior dog Ruthie was found wandering the streets alone when she was brought into the shelter. Her dazed and forlorn appearance spoke volumes of the life she must have led. For three weeks, she has waited in the shelter for potential adopters, but her age seemed to cast a shadow over her chances of finding a forever home. “Cleaning her up could really lift her spirits,” I thought as we planned Ruthie’s transformation. Despite her senior status, there was an undeniable charm about her that a makeover could highlight. The shelter named her Ruthie for her dignified presence, yet she remained withdrawn, perhaps resigned to her fate. But I’ve witnessed Mel’s magic work wonders before, and my hopes were high for Ruthie.
