Witnesses Begged Him to Stop—Man Dragged and Beat Puppy in Broad Daylight — Petition Demands Lifetime Ban
In DeLand, Florida, a disturbing act of cruelty unfolded in public as multiple witnesses watched a small puppy being dragged behind a bicycle—only for the situation to escalate into violence.
According to the DeLand Police Department, witnesses reported seeing a man riding too fast for the young dog to keep up. The puppy repeatedly fell as its leash became tangled in the bike, leaving it dragged along the ground. When the man finally stopped, instead of helping the animal, witnesses say he began kicking and hitting the puppy as it cowered.
Witnesses Stepped In—But the Abuse Continued
Several bystanders attempted to intervene, pleading with the man to stop. According to reports, more than one person confronted him, urging him to show compassion.
He refused.
Witnesses say he continued striking the puppy and would not allow anyone to offer it food or water. Even after the dog had clearly been distressed and unable to keep up, the man allegedly dragged the puppy away again.
When officers arrived, the man claimed he was simply “training” the dog.
