Frostbitten Husky Puppy Found in Crate Under Bridge Dies After Rescue—Two Arrested
In a heartbreaking case out of Erie, Pennsylvania, a six-month-old husky puppy named Aimee was found abandoned in a crate under a bridge during sub-zero temperatures—left freezing, starving, and barely alive.
When rescuers arrived, Aimee was unresponsive, emaciated, and suffering from severe frostbite on all four paws. Despite being rushed into emergency care, her body had endured too much. She later went into cardiac arrest and died.
A Cruel Abandonment in Freezing Conditions
Authorities say Aimee had been left trapped in a crate as brutal winter conditions swept through the area. Rescuers described her as “a rack of bones,” covered in feces and reeking of urine—clear signs of prolonged neglect and suffering.
This was not a momentary lapse in judgment. It was a sustained act that left a defenseless puppy to suffer alone in the cold.
Shortly after her rescue, two individuals were arrested and are now facing multiple counts of animal cruelty. Their names have not been publicly released.

A Fight She Couldn’t Win
Aimee was given warmth, care, and compassion in her final moments—something she had been denied for far too long. Rescuers did everything they could to save her, but the damage was irreversible.
Her story has shaken the community and raised urgent questions about how such cruelty could happen—and how to prevent it from happening again.
Why This Case Matters
Cases like Aimee’s are not just tragedies—they are warning signs. Experts have long noted that extreme animal cruelty can indicate deeper behavioral issues that require intervention.
While arrests have been made, advocates say more must be done to ensure lasting protection for animals.

That’s why supporters are urging the public to Sign the Petition calling for:
- A lifetime ban on animal ownership
- Mandatory mental health counseling
- Strong legal consequences that reflect the severity of the abuse
