Meet Shelter Staffy Mix With Millions of Social Media Views But Zero Adoption Applications

There exist two kinds of shelter dogs: those who quickly charm their way into the hearts of potential adopters and find homes within a short time, and those who become long-term shelter residents after being repeatedly overlooked.

The saddest thing about dogs in the second category is that most of these overlooked pups have it all: stunning looks, infectious smiles, winning personalities, good manners……you name it. One of these perfect yet continuously overlooked souls is Pinky, an almost 6-year-old American Bull Staffy (a cross between the American Staffordshire Terrier and American Bulldog).

For 340 days now, Pinky — who’s become a favorite among volunteers and staff at Border Tails Rescue — hasn’t had a single adoption application in progress. Pinky longs to experience the beauty of life beyond the shelter walls. Unfortunately, her hopes often take a nosedive whenever visitors pass her by as though she doesn’t exist.

For months now, staff at Border Tails Rescue have been vouching for Pinky across their social platforms. Millions of people have clicked on her videos, hundreds have visited the shelter’s website to get a glimpse of Pinky, and thousands have passed by the shelter in person to check her out.

In fact, Pinky recently had a meet-and-greet with a potential adopter, but they opted not to adopt this sweet girl. Even though staff at the shelter are heartbroken by the blows of disappointment thrown at Pinky’s face, they won’t stop looking until they find her the perfect home. To them, Pinky is exceptionally deserving of an amazing family because she’s equally amazing, if not perfect.

Pinky has had so much heartbreak in the past 340 days and she is pleading to be adopted and finally have a family of her own!! Unfortunately, this adoption meeting decided not to adopt Pinky. Pinky is an almost 6 year old, female staffy mix with soooo much love to give! Her shelter residency is nearing a full year and we don’t quite underdtand why. Pinky is a staff and volunteer favorite… meanwhile thousands of families have walked by her kennel, hundreds have clicked on her profile on our website to learn more, and millions have watched her videos on social media….all that and still with no luck in finding a family. Pinky is searching for a home where she can soak up allllll the love! She prefers to be the only pet in the house so she can be the star! Pinky is amazing with kids of all ages and becomes best friends with every person she meets. She loves to play with toys and of course dives straight into tasty treats. If you or someone you know is interested in adopting, please submit an adoption application on our website. 📍Northbrook, IL 📞 847-813-5774 📧 [email protected]

Pinky’s Waiting On You for a Forever Home

It’s not hard to see why Pinky has occupied a big space in the hearts of shelter staff and volunteers. Besides her gorgeous looks, this happy-go-lucky girl is often quick to show love and affection to anyone who crosses her path, including kids.

Pinky is a playful, energetic pup who’ll brighten your day with her mischief and prowess in tug of war, among other exciting games. She’s also pretty intentional about maximizing her lazy moments by sneaking on your lap for soothing scratches or cuddling next to you.

Not to mention, Pinky is the real definition of beauty with brains. She’s highly trainable, possesses a strong eagerness to please, and is potty-trained. Oh, and if you don’t know what cute snorts sound like, you’ll find out as soon as Pinky lands in your home. Since she loves being the center of attention, Pinky is best suited for a home where she’s the only pet.

If you’d love to make the ever-friendly Pinky a part of your family, please visit Border Tails Rescue for details about her adoption process.
