Mama Dog Abandoned After Over-Breeding is Ready For a Life of Her Own

There are so many things to love about dogs, from their ever-wagging tails to their one-of-a-kind personalities. Although what’s on the inside makes each pup so special, the outsides are often pretty adorable, too. Just ask everyone who’s laid eyes on precious lowrider Leville!

Dog up for Adoption: Mama Dog Abandoned After Over-Breeding is Ready For a Life of Her Own

This resilient mama dog has had a difficult time before finding herself at Love Leo Rescue in Los Angeles, but all of that is behind her now. As she adjusts to living life with family and friends instead of a breeder, Leville shows her rescuers just how much love she has to give. The last step in her journey toward Happily Ever After is to find her the prefect forever home!

Left Feeling Used and Abandoned

Love Leo first heard about Leville when she was put on the euthanasia list in a San Bernardino shelter. She had been brought into the shelter as a stray after likely being abandoned by a backyard breeder. The rescue’s best guess is that she was bred again and again until she began showing signs of medical complications. She was diagnosed with a prolapsed uterus at the Southern California shelter and was sadly put on the euthanasia list due to a lack of resources to help her.

Luckily, Love Leo sprung into action just in time! Leville was rescued from the shelter the same day she was put on that dreaded list and was immediately taken to the vet. As the rescue explains, ” Upon their assessment and when they went in for surgery, they found no such evidence of a prolapsed uterus and just did a routine spay for this momma.” What luck! It’s unclear why this misdiagnosis occurred, but what’s most important is that Leville is expected to live a long, happy, and healthy life.

A New Life For the Lowrider

This short-legged sweetie was brought to a foster home immediately after her spay surgery, where she continued to thrive. After her exam and procedure, the vet estimates she’s about 2-3 years old, and she weighs around 40 pounds. She’s a healthy gal, and she’s going to make a wonderful family dog. In her foster home, she’s already settled in!

Love Leo explains that Leville shows more and more of her spunky personality every day. She has a bit of that typical Bulldog stubbornness, but she is friendly with everyone and loves a good cuddle. But her favorite time of day is when she goes for a walk with her foster siblings. Her ideal forever owner will need to continue daily walks with Leville, but this rescue girl will love those walks even more if there are other dogs around. In fact, her rescuers think she’d do best in a home with other dogs or even with kids to play with her! She’s a well-rounded dog who loves activity and hanging around the house, and it’s only a matter of time until the perfect adopter comes her way.
