Felix Was Found in Tijuana

Felix is a 5-year-old Terrier mix male who was found as a stray on the streets of Tijuana by The Animal Pad (TAP), a San Diego-based dog rescue. He was emaciated to the point of being skin and bones, covered in mange, and very malnourished that the examining vet didn’t think there was hope

TAP refused to give up on Felix. Instead of euthanizing him, they gave Felix the chance to choose his fate. Felix fought hard to battle his way back to health. Soon after, he was placed with a loving foster family to continue his remarkable recovery.

Felix Is Thriving with His Foster Family

Though he arrived at his foster family’s home with only the survival skills he’d learned on the streets, Felix is now living his best life, soaking up love, playtime, and adventures galore with his foster family. His foster mom says that over time he slowly came out of his shell and has blossomed into an energetic and loving good boy who works hard to please his humans.

Felix loves being outdoors and is learning how to walk on a leash properly. His foster mom hopes with additional training, he’ll stop pulling and improve his leash reactivity. She even thinks this spirited pup could become a running partner someday!

This smart, energetic boy thrives on human companionship. He’s an affectionate cuddler who enjoys sleeping snuggled up to his mom, belly-up. Felix’s favorite pastimes include playing with toys, sticking his head out the car window to sniff the air on long rides, and wrestling and chasing with his two canine housemates.

Felix Is Healthy and Ready for a Family to Call His Own

Now that Felix has learned how to be a dog and part of a family, he’s ready to find his forever home! This highly energetic and active boy needs an active family who can provide him with plenty of exercise and activities to keep him entertained; couch potatoes won’t do for this pup! While Felix occasionally experiences mild separation anxiety, he does fine on his own if exercised before his family leaves.

Felix is fully potty-trained, crate-trained, up to date on his shots, microchipped, and neutered. Due to the severe mange he was found with, he requires a special shampoo to maintain healthy skin and wears vet-prescribed K-9 Sunscreen as he’s prone to sunburns. Felix is great with older children and teenagers, but not with cats. Although he does well with the dogs in his foster home, he should initially join a family without other dogs. However, with a slow introduction process, he could eventually live with other canine companions.
