‘Ballerina’ Dog Saved from Euthanasia Last Minute, Yearns for Forever Family
It takes a lot for a shelter dog to remain hopeful and maintain an indomitable spirit when their greatest heart desire — finding a loving, forever home — seems to be taking too long to unfold.
One such dog is Gia, a one-and-a-half-year-old Pocket Pitbull/American Staffordshire Terrier Mix currently at Lovebugs Rescue in Southern California. Gia — an absolute girly girl who loves donning ballerina outfits and the cutest accesorries— baffles shelter staff with the positivity she radiates, bearing in mind that her life was, not so long ago, clouded by a grim reality. Before coming to Love Bugs Rescue, Gia was a resident at a kill shelter, where she had, sadly, been placed on the euthanization list.
Although Sweet Gia was desperate for a chance to live, the reality of her scheduled euthanization stared right into her face, giving her all reasons to believe that her life would soon be over. Fortunately for Gia, fate wasn’t done with her yet.
From Euthanasia to Freedom…
In a miraculous turn of events, Lovebugs Rescue got wind of Gia’s scheduled euthanization and stepped in moments before it happened. Thankfully, their intervention paid off, as Gia was finally off the dreaded euthanization list.
This 48-pound furry sweetheart was then brought to Lovebugs Rescue, where her longing for a permanent home to call her own continues to grow with every passing day. In fact, staff at the shelter are still puzzled by the fact that Gia has no adoption application in progress yet, given how friendly, affectionate, gentle, and well-mannered she is.
Gia’s Counting on You for a Forever Home
When you get to meet and know Gia, it won’t take long before you realize she’s a complete package. Gia will instantly captivate your heart with her sweet demeanor and bubbly personality. This lovely Pittie is often quick to extend kisses and affection to everyone who interacts with her; she simply can’t help it.
Gia is a certified cuddling fan with moderate exercise needs and the silliest antics that will every day remind you how dull life would be without her presence.
The quickest way to Gia’s heart is giving her endless belly rubs, spoiling her with toys, allowing her to play fetch to her heart’s content, and taking her for walks. Gia is potty-trained and crate-trained and is making remarkable progress in her leash discipline. Not to mention, she gets along with other household dogs.
All Gia desires is a caring permanent home where she’ll reciprocate all the love, affectionate, and smiles dished out to her a hundred-fold. If you’d love to make Gia’s desires a reality, please visit the Lovebugs Rescue’s website for more details about her adoption.
