After a Heart-Stopping Rescue, this Velcro Pooch Can’t Stop ‘Mooing’ For A Permanent Home

San Antonio, TX – With her endearing spots and even more delightful personality quirks, it’s hard to imagine how Moo the American Staffordshire Terrier ended up alone on the city streets. But this affectionate pup’s journey took an incredibly lucky turn when she narrowly avoided being struck by a car on Carolina Street, a very busy street right next to a major highway.

“I was inside when I heard screeching tires and ran outside to find Moo almost getting hit as she tried crossing the road,” recalled the good samaritan neighbor who first rescued the friendly stray. “She came right up to me, tail wagging, and let me put a slip lead on without any fear.”

Rescuers believe she was likely dumped by her owners. “She didn’t look really neglected just underweight.”

Enter Her “Boyfriend”

Despite exhaustive efforts, Moo’s owners could not be located. Fortunately, Footbridge Animal Rescue stepped in to provide Moo medical care and find her a loving foster home. That’s where she met her current “boyfriend” and foster dad, Mark Calvanico.

“From the moment Moo arrived, her lovable personality shone through,” Mark said. “She’s an absolute velcro dog who loves to snuggle, ‘help’ with chores, and shower you with kisses.”

A Goofy Sweetheart

While Moo did arrive looking a bit thin, the resilient pup has flourished under Mark’s care. Her quirky habits, like excitedly “mooing” and doing twirls when she’s really happy, have become a constant source of joy.

“Every day with Moo is an adventure filled with love and laughter,” Mark said. “She’s such a special pup with so much love to give.”

Trained and Ready

During her five months with Footbridge, Moo has also worked hard on her training. She’s now crate-trained, knows basic commands like sit, and is a perfect canine companion on walks, happily greeting both human and doggy pals.

Patiently Awaiting Her Perfect Match

Despite her many lovable qualities, Moo’s forever home remains elusive so far. Potential adopters have fallen for her charms but encountered hurdles like timing or existing pets at home.

As she awaits her perfect match, Moo spends her days living each moment to the fullest – going on adventures, getting snuggly, and of course, indulging in her favorite treats.

“Moo is such a resilient, goofy girl who only wants to shower you with unconditional love,” Mark said. “I know there’s a family out there who will be so lucky to make her their forever pup.”
