Rocky Kanaka (Animal Advocate):

Are we going to be able to save this dog’s leg? He was hit by a car and then abandoned.

Shelter Volunteer:

The leg was dangling. The vet clinic gave two options. An amputation or the surgery to repair the puppy’s leg was going to be in the neighborhood of about $5,000.

Rocky Kanaka:

Look at that cute face. When I heard about this, I knew I wanted to help.

Rocky Kanaka’s Team Member:

He wants to cover that $3,000 remaining.

Shelter Volunteer:

Oh my gosh. Oh my God, that’s amazing.

Rocky Kanaka:

It’s been almost a month, and I’m headed back to Upland because today we meet Mondo and see how his surgery went. So I wanna do something big for Mondo and for all of his friends. I got a hold of an ice cream truck for dogs. We’re gonna completely convert this. I’ve got peanut butter, bacon beds, sprinkles.

But the only thing that’s gonna matter is will the dogs love It? And more importantly, will Mondo love it? The vet did everything he could to save his leg, so we still need to see if it worked. Okay, we’re gonna go check up on Mondo. Now, he had his major surgery and it wasn’t easy. Thank goodness, an awesome foster family spent time with him to make sure that he was okay and that he had time to heal. So this right here is a big moment because we’re gonna check up on him and see how he’s doing.

Makes me so happy the surgery was successful. Now it’s time to celebrate with some ice cream. 3, 2, 1 doggie ice cream. Let’s do it. All right. All right, Mando, step on up. We’re open for business. Hi, buddy. It’s good to see you in all four of your legs.

Shelter Volunteer:

Okay, how about hot dogs? And Peanut butter ?

Rocky Kanaka:

hot dogs, and peanut butter. That sounds like a winning choice to me. See the peanut butter and hot dogs? We’re not skipping on topping there. Oh

Shelter Volunteer:

Oh my gosh Mando… here. What do you think?

Rocky Kanaka:

All right. Who’s up next? Okay, we’ve got an order for Peanut, That’s Peanuts, peanut butter, and carob. <laugh>. Sounds good. Let’s do it.

Peanuts, peanut butter and carob for Peanut. Hey, there we go. What toppings would Lucky like?

Shelter Volunteer:

Lucky would like a hot dog and peanut butter.

Rocky Kanaka:

Now I’m gonna do something special for Lucky because I actually know Lucky’s story, and it’s a heartbreaking one. You see, he was a homeless dog with a homeless person on this street, and unfortunately they got arrested and they went to jail, and then he was out of a home. And so I’m gonna serve his ice cream in a waffle cone so he can eat his cup also. Alright, big old scoop of peanut butter. Look that. Oh, peanut butter. And a popular request, Hot Dogs!

I did something special. I put it in a waffle cone so he can eat his own cup. Oh,

Shelter Volunteer:

Oh, you’ve been like that. Here Lucky.

Rocky Kanaka:

Here we go…

I’m really excited to announce a new fund that Furbo is starting to help even more animals. Anytime someone signs up for the Furbo dog Nanny, $1 is gonna go towards helping even more animals. The fund will be used to help support community initiatives and charities in the field of animal welfare. Let’s support the companies that are helping support animals.
