Sweetest French Bulldog Was Overbred and Discarded—Now She’s Searching for Someone to Love Her
Mabel, a 4-year-old French Bulldog, endured years of relentless breeding that left her body severely weakened. When she was no longer seen as profitable, she was discarded.
@roadogsrescue Mabel was treated like property before—bred and then discarded. She is severely overbred. All of her nipples and vulva were significantly overdeveloped, and she has had previous C-sections along with an abdominal midline hernia. Now, she has little trust in people and needs slow introductions. However, once that trust is built, she becomes a Velcro dog who never wants to leave your side. Her trauma won’t just disappear, and she needs someone who understands that. Located in Boulder Creek, CA. Rescuers from Southern California’s Roadogs Rescue couldn’t ignore her condition when they found her at a shelter. Drawn to her gentle expression and soulful eyes, they stepped in to give her the second chance she desperately needed. Now safe, Mabel is beginning a new chapter—one defined by healing, compassion, and the love she was always meant to have.
Overbreeding Horrors Left Her Traumatized
Mabel’s physical condition speaks volumes about the neglect she endured. Treated as nothing more than a breeding machine, she was used for profit and never truly loved as part of a family. She underwent multiple C-sections despite having an abdominal midline hernia, a clear sign of disregard for her well-being.

The dog is now in the care of her loving foster parent, Kimberly, and is searching for a forever home where she can finally experience the love and care she’s always deserved. Understandably, she has trust issues with humans and needs slow, patient introductions. But once she feels safe, she becomes a devoted Velcro dog, never wanting to leave her person’s side.
Are You Ready to Give Mabel the Loving Home She Deserves?
If you’re considering adopting Mabel, it’s important to understand that her past trauma means she will need time to adjust. While she has an outgoing personality and the potential to become an incredible companion, she requires patience, care, and a gentle approach to truly thrive.

Mabel may do well with a calm canine companion, but due to her difficult past, a home without young children would be best.
She is currently recovering from a recent spay and teat removal surgery, necessary after years of overbreeding. If you believe you can provide Mabel with the love and stability she needs, you can submit an adoption application to Roadogs. After a careful selection process, she may just find her forever home—with you.
Pet rescue advocate Rocky Kanaka is deeply moved by Mabel’s story, stating, “Dogs like Mabel aren’t broken—they’ve just been let down by humans. With patience, love, and the right home, they can heal and show the world how resilient they truly are.”
