Stray Dog With Jar Stuck on Her Head Survives Two Days Alone Until Rescuers Launch Daring Search
A stray dog in Pennsylvania caused a wave of concern across the state after she was spotted wandering alone with a jar stuck on her head. Volunteers from Canine Rescue of Central PA (CRCPA) immediately launched a desperate search, determined not to let her suffer alone.
For two days, rescuers scoured the area, never giving up hope. Finally, with the help of two skilled drone pilots, the dog, now named Dallas, was safely found and brought into care. Today, she’s recovering at the rescue, no longer trapped or afraid, thanks to the incredible teamwork that turned her story into one of survival and hope.
Two-Day Rescue Operation
On Monday, August 18, a CRCPA volunteer first spotted the stray dog who would soon capture hearts across Pennsylvania. From that moment, the search for her safety began. Determined to bring her home, Canine Rescue of Central PA partnered with FIND TOBY in PA, a private pet finder group, to launch a full-scale rescue effort.
All day Monday, volunteers searched tirelessly but came up empty. By Tuesday, it became clear that more help was needed, and drone teams were called in. Late that afternoon, BM Fisher from Drone Deployment Services LLC joined the mission, followed later that night by Dallas Fuhrman from Nighthawk Drone Services, who arrived after 11 p.m.
At 3 a.m., their dedication finally paid off. The exhausted dog was located deep in a cornfield, still trapped in the jar, disoriented and desperately trying to free herself. Volunteers moved quickly and safely secured her at last.
In honor of the drone pilot who played such a crucial role in her rescue, the dog was given the name Dallas. She was rushed to Shores Veterinary Emergency Center, where Dr. Shonis and her team immediately began treatment, working to give her the care she so desperately needed.

When Dallas was finally brought to safety, it became clear just how much she had endured. Severely dehydrated, covered in ticks, and visibly exhausted, she was in desperate need of immediate medical attention. The team wasted no time getting her the urgent care she deserves, and bloodwork is now underway to determine the full extent of her condition.
Dallas’s rescue was nothing short of a community victory. From the drone pilots who searched tirelessly, to the volunteers on the ground, to the countless people who shared her story online, every effort came together to give this girl a second chance.
