Betsy, The French Bulldog

Introducing Betsy, a delightful 7-year-old Merle French Bulldog with a unique brown and white “cow” print coat. Bursting with affection and energy like many of her Frenchie counterparts, Betsy found her way to the shelter after being brought in by Animal Control. Currently undergoing evaluation for any potential diseases, she has only been at the shelter for a brief period.

French Bulldogs, renowned for their charm, showcase a bright and affectionate nature. Despite being dogs of few words, their keen alertness makes them exceptional watchdogs. With their adaptable temperament, Frenchies happily integrate into the lives of singles, couples, and families alike, requiring minimal outdoor exercise to thrive.

In Betsy, you’ll find a lovable companion who embodies the best qualities of the French Bulldog breed. Stay tuned as her journey unfolds, and she eagerly awaits a forever home where her affectionate nature and boundless energy can be cherished by her new family.

UPDATE:

Betsy is currently living in Las Vegas, Nevada with her new Veteran dad, Scott. Scott found Betsy from Rocky’s YouTube video featuring her. As soon as she saw her, he fell in love and called the shelter to quickly arrange to pick her up nearly the same day. Now named Fiona, she’s doing fantastic, as she has two Boston Terrier playmates in her new home, and was recently responsibly spayed. Overall, Betsy is living her best life with lots of love surrounding her! Her days at the shelter alone are officially over.

Ellie, The Labradoodle

Meet Ellie, an adorable Labradoodle who eagerly welcomes new faces and cherishes every moment spent with Rocky in her kennel. Once a stray, Ellie currently remains in holding, yearning for a loving home to call her own. Although visited by Jocelyn, Justeen, and Jocelyn’s husband, fate didn’t align for them to bring Ellie home. Now, Ellie holds onto hope, eagerly awaiting someone who will place a hold on her for adoption.

Labradoodles, known for their outgoing nature, embody both high energy and maintenance requirements. However, their vibrant personalities make them wonderful additions to any family. While content to lounge at home while their owners are at work, Labradoodles form deep bonds with their human companions and thrive when engaged in family activities. Ellie exemplifies the breed’s desire for love, attention, and inclusion in the lives of her future forever family.

UPDATE:

Ellie, now renamed Lexi, is at home with Jackie, her husband, and her two sons Luke and Blake. Luke had been wanting a dog for a long time, and when Jackie’s mom spotted Lexi at the shelter, she told Jackie so the family could come down to meet her. Although Lexi was a bit nervous at first, she got along great with the boys. Because they were the second hold, they were crossing their fingers they’d be able to get her, and thankfully, they did! Lexi didn’t really understand normal dog activities like playing with a ball at first, but after she got comfortable and was shown she could be a normal dog and this was her home now, she’s gotten into playing now with the boys. She still needs some time, but she’s already developed a great bond with the family, and they’re excited to see what the future holds.

Cooper, Terrier Mix

Cooper, a vivacious four-month-old Terrier mix, brims with an infectious eagerness that is characteristic of his breed. With boundless energy and a tenacious spirit, it’s no surprise that this young pup caught the attention of Rocky, who took the time to sit and play with him, providing much-needed companionship. Sadly, Cooper’s previous family made the difficult decision to return him due to his puppy energy and nippiness, leaving Rocky hopeful that this time, Cooper will find a forever home with individuals who understand the needs of a spirited puppy and the unique characteristics of a Terrier.

Terriers, known for their feisty nature and unwavering energy, possess distinct personalities that leave a lasting impression on those who have experienced their spirited demeanor.

Bred with a purpose to hunt, eradicate vermin, and protect their family’s home or barn, Terriers come in a variety of sizes, ranging from the compact Norfolk, Cairn, and West Highland White Terriers to the larger and majestic Airedale Terrier.

Prospective owners should be prepared for the determination required to raise a Terrier, as they can exhibit stubborn tendencies, have high energy levels, and demand special grooming techniques known as “stripping” to maintain their characteristic appearance.

UPDATE:

Cooper was rescued by iCare Dog Rescue. From there, he was given to foster parents Tamsen and Dave. According to his fosters, Cooper is an absolute delight to have, and if “they were in the market for a puppy, he’d be theirs.” He has learned so much in just 2 weeks of being in foster, including how to walk up stairs, sleeping in his crate at night, sitting and waiting for food, walking on a leash, and more. Cooper loves the toy basket, and is obsessed with his puppy kong toy. He runs up and down the hallway with the kong toy in his mouth and is learning how to fetch with the tennis ball. Tamsen and Dave can’t wait to see how he’ll do in the future with water! Cooper is still a little mouthy and his puppy teeth are sharp, but he is quite sensitive to discipline, so he’s been easy to correct. His paws are huge, so he’ll be a big boy! Directly from his fosters, they think “his ideal family should be experienced raising puppies of this breed, and will give him lots of socialization without leaving him alone for long periods of time.” Cooper is still pretty anxious when they leave him at home with their own dog. But Tamsen says “with love and patience, I’m sure he’ll grow out of his anxiety.”

Thankfully, not long after being in foster, Cooper has finally found his forever home with a young couple ready to take on his rambunctious puppy personality, and he is off to living his best life!

Logan, Cane Corso

Logan’s journey began in the shelter alongside his sister, both frail and listless due to severe emaciation. Sadly, their previous owners chose to surrender them, leaving Animal Control to intervene and offer a glimmer of hope.

While Logan’s sister was fortunate enough to find a loving home, he remained behind, awaiting his turn for a second chance. As the shelter staff works tirelessly to nurse him back to health, Rocky extends his presence to get acquainted with Logan, discovering a down-to-earth and gentle giant within. Although Logan’s recovery has just begun, the collective hope is that he will soon find a new forever home where he can continue his healing journey under the care and comfort of a loving family, instead of within the confines of the shelter.

Belonging to the remarkable Cane Corso breed, Logan exemplifies the qualities that make these dogs exceptional companions. Intelligent, loyal, and eager to please, Cane Corsos possess a versatile nature that allows them to adapt to various situations. Their loyalty to their humans runs deep, yet they can exhibit assertiveness and wilfulness, making responsible breeding and early socialization crucial factors in their development.

UPDATE:

Logan was adopted…and then returned shortly after due to his separation anxiety. He was actually returned twice. Thankfully, after sitting down with another family, Logan went to his forever home! They are working on his separation anxiety and the family loves him.

Aria, American Bully

Aria was an initially shy and cautious shelter dog who opens her heart to Rocky during his heartfelt encounter in her kennel. Aria’s willingness to expose her vulnerable belly, a significant gesture of trust for shelter dogs who often remain too nervous to do so, touched the hearts of all who witnessed it. After Rocky’s connection with Aria, fate smiled upon her, as she found her forever home and was adopted.

Aria is an American Bully. With their innate happiness, outgoing nature, stability, and confidence, these dogs bring boundless joy to those around them.

UPDATE:

Aria, now known as Lady, has an English Bulldog best friend named Cutiepie. She now has a backyard she does zoomies in and is obsessed with Linsey’s 10-year-old autistic son. On the ride home from the shelter, Lady laid on him and didn’t want to get up at all. Linsey’s, along with her grandmother, already liked to watch Rocky’s videos, so were very excited to know Lady was previously featured in a video when they took her home. Overall, Aria is blending right in with the family, and is getting along well with everyone!
