Shelter’s Most Ignored Dogs: These 6 Gorgeous Pups Have Waited for a Home the Longest
Every shelter dog out there carries a silent wish in their hearts: that they’ll find a forever home sooner rather than later. They dream of the day they’ll be waking up to the soft voices of their humans, a cozy bed, and a space that feels like home. Unfortunately, the harsh reality is that for some shelter pups, this dream often takes forever to materialize.

All Kind Animal Initiative shelter in Abilene, Texas, recently shared the lonely faces of six dogs who’ve been in their shelter the longest, and our hearts ache for them. These gorgeous, hopeful pups are without a flaw, yet they’ve been passed by more times than they can recall.
Wesler, Chloe, Edith, Tuscany, Chaz, and Tiger aren’t just mere shelter dogs. They are one-of-a-kind companions in waiting. If your heart is set on adopting, we’re pleading with you to consider giving any of these six dogs a chance. Some of them have been through a lot in the past, and they’d be lucky to end up with someone as amazing as you.
1. Wesler

Described as a happy-go-lucky pup who’s ever bursting with energy, 2-year-old Wesler will make your life an exciting one! This lovely Labrador Retriever mix was brought to the shelter looking emaciated and hopeless after being abandoned in a trailer. Now all healed and healthy, he’s more than ready to embark on a new chapter — the forever chapter with his forever human. To adopt Wesler, learn more here.
2. Chloe

3-year-old Chloe is a Retriever mix with an affectionate heart like no other. She came to the shelter as a stray and has, unfortunately, been overlooked for so long simply because she’s a black dog. Chloe is a social butterfly who sees a friend in everyone. To adopt Chloe, learn more here.
3. Edith

Edith is a 4-year-old Pit Bull Terrier who was found by rescuers tied to a bush. She’s a sweet, confident pup with an independent side that will wow you every single time (she’d rather pass time with her toys than nag you for attention). To adopt Edith, learn more here.
4. Tuscany

3-year-old Tuscany will teach you a thing or two about letting loose because she’s full of playful vibes. This 68-pound mixed breed came to the shelter as a stray with a leg injury but she’s now okay. To adopt Tuscany, learn more here.
5. Chaz

Chaz is a 2-year-old gentleman of a dog who isn’t about the fast-paced life; he’s the perfect example of calm and collected. He isn’t doing too great in his kennel, and will truly appreciate it if you come to his aid. To adopt Chaz, learn more here.
6. Tiger

If you don’t instantly fall in love with 1-year-old Tiger’s brindle coat, then you’ll be blown away by his laid-back personality. This Mountain Cur mix was brought in as a stray and is waiting to be scooped into the arms of a loving human. To adopt Tiger, learn more here.
