Every puppy should be out there enjoying their puppyhood stage to the fullest: chasing birds and squirrels in the yard, making new furry friends, and bonding with their amazing humans. Sadly, this isn’t the case for Tucana, a one-year-old dog who’s been a resident at Valley Animal Center since she was one week old. Unlike most puppies her age, Tucana doesn’t have a real home to call her own, a reality that’s dampening her vibrant personality with every passing day.
All Siblings Adopted Without Her
Tucana grew up with her siblings at the shelter, who have all found forever homes. Unfortunately, Tucana had to bear the heartbreak of not only being separated from all her siblings, but also watching months go by without anyone expressing interest in taking her home. Can you think of anything sadder than this? We think not.
All Tucana wants is to experience the warmth of human companionship, and until this happens, she’ll remain trapped in the cycle of hopelessness. The kennel stress is making her lose weight, and she’s gradually becoming a shell of her former self. No puppy deserves to experience what Tucana is currently undergoing. This lovable pup once got a taste of life in a real home after a foster took her in, but upon her return to the shelter, her mental well-being took a nosedive.
