Fun-Loving Dog Adopted then Returned For Being “Too Hyper” — Yearns to Be Accepted for Who He Is
At the Humane Society of Broward County, staff members are trying to process the unfortunate events that unfolded shortly after one of their favorite dogs, Grant, was adopted. Not so long ago this French Bulldog mix — had found a family that promised him forever, only for them to go back on their word. Their reason? Grant was too hyper.
Despite Grant ticking all the right boxes of a pawfect companion, his new family couldn’t keep up with that one thing that makes him special. Grant is paws-down a fun lover and is thus ever bursting with playful energy. While his infectious zest for life is one of the best things about him, his previous family, unfortunately, viewed it as a flaw and opted to return him.
@humanebroward Meet Grant – The Bachelor of the Shelter! 🌟 Pocket-sized ball of energy 🥰 ⚡️ This season’s most eligible pup is still waiting for his perfect match! Grant is a fun-loving, high-energy dog who just needs the right family to keep up with his zest for life. He’s been overlooked for months because of his enthusiasm, but underneath all that energy is a sweetheart who loves to play, give hugs, and shower you with kisses. Grant was adopted but returned because he was “too hyper”—but can you blame a guy for being excited about life? He needs an active home that will help him channel his energy through play, training, and adventure. A harness will help with his strong leash-pulling, and with a little patience and positive reinforcement, he’ll thrive. Because of his strength and playful jumping, Grant would do best in a home without very young kids or elderly family members. He’s a hilarious, affectionate, and interactive pup who just needs someone to choose him ❤ Let’s help Grant find his happily ever after! 💙🐾 Are you the loving and patient family that can give Grant the fresh start he deserves? Please don’t let him keep waiting. Share to help Grant find the home he deserves! Overlooked for Being Himself
Every shelter dog has at least one superpower, and for Grant, it’s the ability to brighten up anyone’s day with his unmatched enthusiasm. His extra-playful energy alone will drown away the silence in your life, which is why he rocks it like a badge of honor.
Even though Grant’s previous home didn’t work out, the shelter won’t stop rooting for him because they know what he brings to the table is more than enough. Since his return to the shelter, this sweet Frenchie mix has observed potential adopters passing him by in favor of the chill dogs. Despite it all, the shelter continues to hold onto hope that Grant’s perfect match is out there; an understanding family that will love and accept him wholeheartedly.
“Every dog has something special about them. Grant’s uncontainable enthusiasm is simply the icing on the cake as far as his outgoing personality is concerned. He is a fun-loving pup who deserves to be out there putting his energy into good use, not watching precious time go by in his lonely kennel,” pet rescue advocate Rocky Kanaka says.
Could You Give Grant a Chance?
Sure, looks aren’t everything. But we have to admit, Grant is a furry masterpiece. If you don’t find yourself obsessing over his strikingly cute, short legs, then you’ll instantly fall in love with his radiant smile.
Grant is an active fella who’s the happiest when he’s having fun with his humans or toys. Sometimes, though, he can’t contain his enthusiasm and will end up jumping on you or pulling on his leash. Thankfully, with consistent positive reinforcement training, you can correct this.
Grant would do best in a home with no elderly adults or young kids as they may find his energy a nightmare. If you’d love to give him a home and are willing to train him with patience, learn more about his adoption process here.
