French Bulldog Used In Dog Fighting Ring Won’t Stop Walking in Circles, In Need of a Fresh Start
At just two years old, Brock, a Frenchie/English Bulldog mix, has endured a life of hardship that few dogs should ever face. Forced to serve as a bait dog in dogfighting rings, Brock spent the past year suffering physical injuries and emotional scars that robbed him of a normal, happy life. His quiet demeanor and the haunted look in his eyes hint at the trauma he has endured. (watch video below)
Now under the care of the Mercy Full Project in Tampa, FL, Brock is beginning his journey toward recovery. The rescue has given him a safe haven and is determined to help him find the loving home he deserves.

Brock was eventually saved from the barbaric dog-fighting life by a good Samaritan. But just when he thought his new chapter was finally unfolding, his rescuer let him down in the worst way possible.
According to the rescue, Brock’s new owner requested a neighbor to watch over the poor pup, only for them to never return for him. It became clear that Brock’s owner had deliberately abandoned him when they failed to pick up or return phone calls from the concerned neighbor. In fact, Brock’s owner ultimately blocked the neighbor’s number.
Unable to care for an extra dog, the neighbor brought Brock to the rescue organization, marking the start of his journey to finding a forever home.
Old Habits Die Hard….
During his days as a bait dog, Brock was trained to pursue fighting dogs while walking in circles. Sadly, the memories of his past haunt him to date. At the rescue, Brock is often observed walking in circles, a reminder that he’s yet to get over his horrific experiences as a bait dog.
Still, staff continue to be amazed by his resilience and sweet personality. Nothing matters more to them now than finding Brock a loving home where he will rise above his trauma and blossom into the happy dog that he was always meant to be.
Brock’s Counting on You for a Fresh Start
Despite all he’s been through at the hands of cruel people while working as a bait dog, Brock is, surprisingly, still trusting of humans. He can hardly resist any gesture of affection (read: belly rubs & neck stretches) extended to him by a volunteer or staff member.
This precious soul is more than ready to begin afresh in a home that will be patient with him as he heals. What we’re trying to say is, he needs a caring family that won’t tire of helping him become the best version of himself. Brock yearns to experience feelings of safety with his new family because he’s grown up knowing nothing but chaos. Is that too much to ask? We think not.
