Cattle Dog Found Starved and Almost Blind Now Searching for Forever Home

When dogs are saved from a life on the streets, their history is often unknown. Rescuers can only guess what their past might have been like, and in some cases, it can be almost too tragic to imagine.
A Blind Dog Living on the Street
A hard life was undoubtedly the case for a 40-pound cattle dog named Archie, who was found wandering the streets of Perris, CA, starved and almost entirely blind. However, he immediately impressed his rescuers with his ability to move around easily, as he can only see shadows with one eye and is completely blind in the other. While they may not know why he lost his sight, they know it doesn’t stop him from living his best life.
Finding Archie the Perfect Home
Despite his visual disability, this young dog is in perfect health. His foster family says he loves to play and run around the yard. He even knows how to walk nicely on a leash and lives with four cats he does not bother. This handsome fellow would make the perfect companion for a female dog looking for a loyal friend. And although he may do well with a male, he tends to be more selective with the boys. He’s also well-behaved inside the house and has been left alone several times with free rein, causing no problems. He also enjoys sleeping peacefully in his crate at night.
Special Requirements for a Blind Dog
Fortunately, Archie doesn’t need anything special to have a wonderful life. His foster family notes that he occasionally bumps into things, including other dogs. So, it may be best for him to go to a home with a dog(s) who is patient and understanding. In return, he will undoubtedly offer his unwavering loyalty and companionship.
While many shelter dogs struggle to find homes, it can be even more challenging for those with disabilities. If you want to add a new four-legged family member, consider opening your heart to Archie and all he has to offer.
