2/10/24 Update: Valentina arrived at Flip’s Farm
Valentina is a 2 year old old Giant Schnauzer that was found by Animal Control in the yard of a vacant home alone with severe injuries. She appears to have either serious road rash from being hit by a car, or she was burned by heat/fire. Immediately, Animal Control seized the girl to take her to the shelter to get her on pain medication from the shelter health check, and when a microchip was scanned, the shelter immediately went to contact the owner.
When the owner on the microchip was contacted, they claimed they rehomed the dog 6 months prior, however after some conflicting information back and forth, they then said they did not know who they rehomed the dog to after all. The shelter was able to immediately expedite a release of ownership of Valentina in order to make a plan for her, and that’s when Rocky was called in to see if the team could help. After meeting with Valentina to start working on a plan for her, thankfully Animal Care Services agreed to take her in on short notice for both immediate medical treatment and medical boarding.
Valentina’s personality as we know it so far is gentle, sweet, and despite being in pain and on several medications, comes right up to you to greet you. She is also very treat motivated and has a healthy appetite, which is a great sign. She is currently in medical boarding with the amazing team at Animal Care Services in Norco, CA where she is receiving close around the clock care to get her on track to recovery.
