SUSIE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Hiya! I’m Susie. I hail from a Puerto Rico shelter, where I didn’t get to see enough of the world. I’m not long out of puppyhood and I want my own humans for long sniffy walks and romps in the park and all the adventures they can dream up.
Gets Along With: Susie does well with other dogs and needs to go to a home with a welcoming resident dog. We haven’t seen her with cats but she can be tested. We would be cautious placing her in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare shy dogs with their level of energy or noise.
Currently Living at: DC area foster home.
Special adoption considerations: Because Susie is shy, she needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog. We would be cautious placing Susie in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare shy dogs with their level of energy or noise. Children would need to be supervised closely to not leave doors open and should never walk the dog without an adult holding the leash. We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant.
What My Foster Says About Me: Susie is a very sweet girl with a bit of a shy side – she needs some time to open up to other people. She is enjoying learning the ropes from the other dogs in her foster home and follows their lead. She’s great in the car and is working on crate training. She will need a patient adopter who is willing to put the time and training in so that she can build trust and thrive as a dog.
Name: Susie Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd and terrier mix Best Guess for Age: 10.5 months as of 9/18/24 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 22 lbs as of 9/7/24; she might have a bit more to grow!
