Rainey’s journey to safety spans more than 400 miles, a path lined with acts of kindness that saved her life. The two-year-old German Shepherd found herself on “the list” at an overcrowded shelter, where time was running short. When All Shepherd Rescue (ASR) volunteers heard her story, they sprang into action, determined to give Rainey a second chance.
In a quick rescue effort, Rainey was moved from the shelter to temporary boarding in Greensboro, North Carolina. Soon after, a shelter volunteer transported her to Richmond, Virginia, where ASR members were waiting to continue her journey north. The final leg of Rainey’s travels ended in Maryland, where she arrived safely with All Shepherd Rescue.
Despite the hardships, Rainey’s spirit is unbroken. Friendly, affectionate, and full of life, she brings warmth to everyone around her. With her sleek black and tan coat and a playfully tilted ear, Rainey is striking. Her energy and natural athleticism make her a fantastic partner for adventure, whether chasing after a ball or exploring new trails. ASR volunteers note her progress in basic obedience, and they’re confident she’s ready for a loving family.
