8.5 year old Terrier female, nicknamed Pippa, and 5-6 year old Polly, were dumped into night drop by unknown citizens, after being taken out of a taped up box, and without any information left behind for the dogs nor the people, not much is known about where they came from. Pippa’s outward appearance is shocking – she is suffering from an unknown skin condition at this time causing her alopecia, or hair loss, and she also has sores around her body likely from constant irritation and scratching. The shelter put a small sweater on her to both keep her warm in the cooler season and also prevent further damage as they topically treat her and feed her an allergy friendly diet in case her condition is caused by an allergen. Despite her appearance and condition, her overall demeanor is calm and accepting, and Rocky is easily able to feed her treats and give her love.
When Pippa’s sibling Polly is later discovered, Rock sits with her as well. Although this half of the pair does not have alopecia and irritation in the same way, it’s clear she has also gone uncared for in quite some time with matted dirty hair and long nails. On top of this, her demeanor is fearful, causing her to lash out if someone attempts to touch her and she mainly sticks frozen to the corner of the kennel. Thankfully, Rocky has a plan, and wants to take the two sisters to Flip’s Farm – one for a physical rehabilitation, and the other for a mental one. He asks Mel, the shelter groomer, to give much needed grooms to both gals before taking them to the farm to reunite them.
