Say hello to Phoenix, our sweet 2-year-old pup weighing in at 49 pounds. This lovely girl came to us after her previous owner could no longer care for her. While she’s been adjusting to her new surroundings, she’s ready to find a forever home where she can truly shine. She has lived happily with kids aged 5-13, so she’s ready to join your crew!
Initially a bit anxious and sensitive, volunteers report Phoenix has been thriving with gentle encouragement. She’s a food-motivated sweetheart who will benefit from positive reinforcement training focused on building her confidence. She was in a temporary foster home and we learned she’s:
Potty trained and sleeps in her crate all night
Gives adorable morning greetings and rolls over for belly rubs
Knows sit and takes treats super gently
Calm in the car
Mostly quiet and chill at home

In playgroups at the shelter, Phoenix is making tremendous progress and has started to engage in gentle play with other dogs. We recommend a multi-dog home with a social and gentle companion, or a solo dog home with appropriate friends.
