Ms. Gracie is a 12-year-old female spayed corgi, shih tzu, poodle mix. She is very spry and energetic for a
senior. She is house-trained and crate-trained. She can be vocal when she wants to go outside. She loves
attention.
She has some important diagnoses that she will need medication to control for the rest of her
life. She has hyperadrenacorticisim which is called Cushings. This is a condition where too much adrenal
hormone is present in the body. This requires consistent daily medication and bloodwork to monitor
progress.
Ms. Gracie also has severe degenerative osteoarthritis combined with severe bilateral hip
dysplasia.
Her mobility is deteriorating but she doesn’t let that stop her from moving at a pretty fast
pace when she is motivated. These skeletal issues are managed with multiple medications to maintain
her comfort and mobility and overall quality of life.
She has a really great appetite and is food motivated and easily takes her daily medications in pill pockets. Ms. Gracie is great with cats when there
is no food involved but is not friendly toward other dogs regardless of the circumstance. She is content to sit with you while you work or watch tv. She is a good car passenger.
