Meet Moose, a resilient Great Dane who has faced more challenges in his young life than most dogs ever will. Moose’s journey began on November 4, 2020, when he was confiscated by the Bell County Sheriff’s Office along with his two brothers, Thing 1 and Thing 2.
Despite their difficult start, they were amazing puppies. Moose was adopted out on April 1, 2021, only to be rehomed without knowledge or consent, against policy. Sadly, he ended up neglected, confined to a small outdoor kennel.On November 22, 2023, Moose was found emaciated and heartbroken next to his deceased companion. Despite the hardships, Moose’s spirit remained unbroken.
Today, Moose is a testament to resilience. He’s potty trained, crate trained, and making great strides with leash manners. There’s been no resource guarding behavior, but he is fed in his kennel just to be sure. Moose has a playful side, often seen stealing blankets from the kitchen table and dashing away with them. He’s a social butterfly, hanging out with a blind Great Dane, a chihuahua, and a Mexican hairless dog.
Neutered and fully vaccinated, Moose has come a long way from his days of scrounging for food. He’s learning to play and getting better at enjoying his meals without urgency. Moose’s past has made him strong, but he deserves a future filled with love and attention.If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a dog who has faced adversity with incredible strength, Moose is waiting.
