Phoebe, a 10-month-old female Border Collie, is currently being fostered in Plymouth, Indiana. This energetic and curious pup has settled in beautifully at her foster home. She thrives in daycare, eagerly playing with her new canine friends and charming the staff with her friendly demeanor. While she shows curiosity about cats when she’s in her kennel, outside of it, she pays them little attention. Phoebe is crate-trained, walks well on a leash, and is an excellent car passenger, making her a joy to have around.

Managing Challenges and Building Trust

Like many young dogs, Phoebe has some challenges to work through, particularly resource guarding. She tends to guard items from both people and other dogs, but this behavior lessens as she becomes more comfortable and builds trust. Her foster parent has been managing this by creating a structured environment and practicing “trade ya” techniques to redirect her guarding tendencies. With continued guidance and love, Phoebe has the potential to thrive in a patient and understanding forever home.
