Meet the sweetest little soul you’ll ever encounter—Güera! This young shepherd mix may be small in size, but she’s overflowing with love and charm.
Güera has quite the unique backstory. Along with her sister, she was flown in from California as a puppy to be a junkyard dog. However, they both quickly proved to be far too sweet for the job, happily welcoming anyone into the yard with wagging tails instead of warning barks. Their careers as guard dogs may not have worked out, but their irresistible personalities certainly shine through. After being surrendered to a local impound, they eventually found their way to RSR.
While Güera’s sister has already found her forever home, Güera is still on the lookout for hers. This cuddly girl loves to be close to her people and is always up for a snuggle. If you’re familiar with Miss Peaches on TikTok, you’ll know what we mean when we say Güera loves her “tummy tax”—belly rubs are a must! She adores toys, often tossing them in the air and entertaining herself, but her favorite pastime is playing with other dogs. Güera would thrive in a home with a canine companion, but she could also be happy as an only dog if you’re ready to give her all the attention she craves.
Güera is a bit of a goofball, often using her paws to nudge you for attention. With springs for legs, she can easily clear a 4-foot fence, so she’d do best in a yard with a 6-foot fence or on a leash until she gets familiar with her surroundings.
This uncoordinated cutie has a knack for tumbling off the couch or bed, only to pop up like she meant to do it all along.
While she’s still working on her training and could use some help focusing her energy, Güera is eager to learn and full of potential. If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate dog with the most adorable ears, Güera is the one for you!
