✨ Meet Ames – A Survivor With a Soul Full of Love

Ames spent his early years with a hoarder, neglected and ignored. He was rescued in a heartbreaking case of cruelty (read more: St. Landry Parish cruelty case) and arrived underweight, weak, and heartworm positive. But since entering foster care in Ohio, Ames has blossomed. He’s completed heartworm treatment, gained healthy weight, and even celebrated with a little “boogie woogie” dance. He recently had his remaining teeth removed and now eats a soft-food diet like a champ!

💛 What Makes Ames Special:

  • A true Velcro dog—follows his person everywhere
  • Gentle, affectionate, and sweet beyond words
  • Enjoys car rides (with a little boost), veggies, soft treats, and a cozy lap
  • Crate-trained and quiet overnight
  • Loves women especially and melts under soft attention

🩺 Important Medical Info:
Ames takes an affordable medication (Sildenafil) for pulmonary hypertension and may require future care from a skilled vet. He wears male wraps indoors due to occasional marking, but he’s house-trained with a consistent routine.

🌟 What Ames Needs Most:

  • A fenced yard and few or no stairs
  • A calm home where he can rest, snuggle, and enjoy companionship
  • A family who values his golden heart and understands senior dog needs
  • Continued professional grooming to keep his coat in good shape

🆘 Help Ames Find the Forever He Was Denied

Ames was discarded for years, but still gives love freely. Now, he just wants a forever home where he can continue to bloom. He deserves warmth, peace, and a soft hand to hold. Is your heart big enough to carry his?
