This gentle boy has been through so much in his short life. He was scheduled to be euthanized at the Roswell, NM shelter —not once, but twice. His previous owners promised to come back for him, but they never did. One hour before he was to be euthanized, MAD Rescue swooped in and saved him, giving him a second chance at life.
As a mix, Adobe has a difficult time being seen in a breed specific rescue. He is a pint-sized guy, weighing just 38 pounds. He has a huge heart, he’s housebroken, walks well on a leash, and is both crate and house trained. He does great with older kids and other dogs, making him the perfect addition to any family. Adobe loves to chew—especially on sticks—and would be absolutely thrilled to find someone who’ll let him be their lap dog.
One of Adobe’s favorite things is his trusty squishmallow, which he loves to cuddle with and toss around. He’s a true velcro boy who thrives on being close to his people, always ready to offer endless affection and loyalty. Plus, with his intelligence, Adobe responds beautifully to positive reinforcement training.
Adobe recently met a turkey, and while he was initially intrigued, he quickly backed off when the turkey made some noise and ruffled his feathers—no chasing or aggression. He’s also had some interactions with chickens, both in the pen and free-range. He wasn’t very interested in the penned ones, but when the free-range chickens scattered, Adobe simply followed one around for a bit before moving on to explore. He doesn’t fixate or pull after them, showing he’s more of a curious observer than a chaser. We believe he would be ok with a dog savvy cat.
Adobe is fully vetted and neutered.
