Abandoned Pit Bull Saved from Euthanasia is the Perfect Cat-Friendly Dog. Now She Waits For Her Forever Home
Families with cats often have to search long and hard for a dog that will get along with their feline companion. Well, their search will come to an end if they meet Kenya, a 3-year-old canine. This female Pit bull is the perfect and sweetest cat-friendly dog anyone could wish for.
Kenya is currently with Marley’s Mutts, a California-based rescue in a foster home, but that won’t last forever and this girl has a lot of love to give, so she is waiting for someone to come and adopt her.
Found As a Stray
It is hard to imagine that someone could abandon Kenya, but this Pittie was actually found as a stray. She was in poor condition when she was taken to a shelter, as she was covered in fleas, ticks, and foxtails. The sweet girl even had to undergo surgery in order to remove several foxtails from very uncomfortable places.
After going through so much, she was lingering in the shelter without any adoption interests and was not adapting well to the environment. According to Pet Rescue Advocate Rocky Kanaka, “An unknown place like a shelter can be a really scary place for a dog.” Fortunately, Marley’s Mutts stepped in and placed her with one of their fosters. Dogs belonging to Kenya’s breed usually end up on the euthanasia list. So, if she had been at the shelter any longer, she might have met her end. It would have been a shame because a dog like Kenya would fit right in with any family who could provide her with love and care.

Besides being cat-friendly, Kenya has been described by the rescue as “a total love bug.” She wouldn’t mind receiving as many belly rubs as possible. Moreover, she doesn’t have much exercise requirements because she is an extremely chill and laid-back dog.
All Kenya wants to do is curl up in your lap and receive love and affection. Anyone would be truly lucky to have this gentle giant because she will never be a handful. This is why it is unfathomable that Kenya is without her forever home.
