Montana has had a miserable puppyhood—she spent the first five months of her life living in a shed with her sister. But now, thanks to Sandy Dog Rescue, this sweet pup has been given a second chance at love and a happy life.
The Southern California rescue not only got Montana out of her pitiful situation but also placed her in a loving foster home. This new abode has been so good for the puppy that in just a few weeks, her temperament has improved drastically.
Being a puppy who had never interacted with humans, Montana was fearful and anxious around people. Whenever anyone approached, she would flinch and become agitated.
Thanks to the love, patience, and structure she’s received in her foster home, the Iggie mix is slowly emerging from her shell and beginning to trust people. This transformation in just a few weeks at her foster home offers hope for a bright future as a beloved member of a forever family.

Montana’s behavioral challenges stem from her loveless, isolated past, but she is naturally a gentle and sweet soul, according to the rescue. Weighing just 15 lbs, this “Iggy” thrives on love and care and is on her way to becoming the perfect canine companion anyone could wish for.
