Watch as a 5-Pound Pomeranian Chases a Black Bear Out of the House
What do you imagine when you think of a guard dog? My guess would be a German Shepherd or a Rottweiler, or a Doberman. A cute little Pomeranian would definitely not cross your mind. But in Vancouver, Canada, that’s exactly the role a Pom Pom took on when he refused to bow down to an actual bear. (Watch Video Below)

In a recent TikTok video, Kayla Kleine (@kaylakleine) shared how Scout, her 5-pound Pomeranian, became the perfect guard dog when a black bear wandered into their home and Scout bravely chased him out.
Big Courage, Tiny Package
The whole showdown was caught on a security camera, starting with the bear strolling in through the patio door and sniffing around. That’s when Scout burst onto the scene, barking, growling, and charging straight at the intruder until the massive animal bolted out of the house in fear.
Kayla revealed in the caption that the bear had wandered into the kitchen and helped itself to the dog food. One amused TikTok user commented, “I think he was mad about the bear eating his food.”
In another post, Kayla revealed that this wasn’t the bear’s first visit. In fact, he and his mom had stopped by before.
In addition, a follow-up clip shows Scout standing tall in the backyard, kicking his hind legs and barking into the air, as if declaring victory. This little pup is clearly ready to take on any bear bold enough to try again.

It’s no wonder the clip went viral. This tiny hero’s big moment has racked up over 5 million views, more than 887,000 likes, and thousands of comments. To top it off, Scout’s fearless feat has even caught the attention of news outlets, eager to share his incredible bravery.
One viewer, Aya, joked, “Both of them are underestimating their sizes 😭.” Another added, “Tiny dogs are seriously the wildest.”
Scout’s run-in with the bear has cemented his status as the tiniest, fluffiest guard dog in Vancouver. Whether he’s defending his turf, his humans, or his dinner, one thing’s certain, this Pom takes his job very seriously… even if it means chasing off a creature ten times his size.
