This service dog gets so excited when he sees Pluto!
Jessica (Henry’s Mom):
Pluto gets down and will roll around with Henry, and Henry loves it. When we’re waiting in line, he’s wagging his tail and he doesn’t wag his tail regularly. He gets really excited. He shakes off like it’s like, “Ugh. I’m so excited.”
Rocky Kanaka:
Henry loves to visit all the characters. It’s his favorite thing to do while at the parks.
Jessica:
When he meets characters, he enjoys that. Disney World working dog days are long days. They always point out at Henry and Henry like wags his tail. It’s very strange to me because he just loves them.
Rocky Kanaka:
Disney parks have a lot of distractions for a service dog, but Henry always stays focused to help Jessica whenever she needs him.
Jessica:
I have a condition called Pots and it affects heart rate and blood pressure pretty severely causing passing out and things like that. He has a little nose bonk and then I notice it down. Henry will lay across the bottom half of my legs and then it just provides circulation. So you can recover faster from low blood pressure.
He can retrieve dropped items, and that helps because a lot of what my condition causes is the up and down motions are really bad. If I’m ever in a situation where I don’t have my phone or I can’t speak, I use specific phrase and he’ll go and retrieve people.
Jessica:
Henry, go get dad.
Henry’s Dad:
Good boy! Go get mom…
Jessica:
Good job. Good job.
Rocky Kanaka:
Jessica and Henry created a children’s book to teach others all about service dogs.
Jessica:
I saw like a massive gap in education for service dogs for children. The best way I could figure out to help kids navigate this and help parents describe it to their kids was to write a book. It kind of wrote itself in the sense that it really is our story.
His whole persona is truly him. He does love people and he loves working. I’ve never met a person or thing or anything like that, that just loves as hard as Henry does. He’s a goal of just happiness. He just loves so hard. It’s the sweetest thing.
