This Rescue Pup’s Reaction to Getting Adopted Is the Purest Thing Ever

Some get so used to watching pups in the opposite kennels go home before them, leaving their hearts pounding with the same silent worry day in, day out: will my turn ever arrive? And then one day, when they least expect it, it happens…
Someone crouches down in front of their kennel longer than usual, pets them gently on the head, and decides that they are going to sign the adoption papers. Finally, they were chosen.
Landing a forever home doesn’t just mark the end of the kennel life for a shelter pup. It signifies the beginning of everything they dreamt of each night they curled up all alone in their kennel. Having a soft bed instead of a cold concrete floor. Hearing the laughs and voices of their humans instead of endless barks from other shelter pups. Spending much of their time enjoying the simple pleasures of life instead of staying behind bars for hours. No one can relate to this feeling more than five lovely dogs captured in a TikTok video exploding with joy when they realized they had been adopted.
“Me? Going Home? Unbelievable!”
The heartwarming clip, posted on TikTok account @metdaan.animal, shows each pup unable to contain their excitement when they hear they’re going to their forever home.
As soon as their kennel door opens and a leash is clipped on their neck, they each erupt with pure joy that electrifies every inch of their body. Their tails can be seen wagging back and forth furiously like a runway propeller as they run into the arms of their adopters, almost toppling over.
It’s obvious that these incredible dogs had been waiting for this moment all their life, and even though it had finally arrived, it still felt so unreal. For some, this new reality sank in when the fresh air hit their faces as they stepped out of the shelter with their new owners.
Now, each of these five dogs is no longer another forgotten furry face in a crowded shelter. They are someone’s beloved pet. And what we’re sure of is, their tails won’t stop wagging anytime soon.
