Tears as Sweet Puppy Gets Returned to Shelter Minutes After Getting Adopted
Stella is only eight months old, but she’s already experienced more heartbreak than most dogs twice her age. Just days ago, she left the Animal Friends of the V in Wildomar, CA, full of hope—tail wagging, ears bouncing—as she hopped into what she thought was her forever family’s car. She was finally getting the home she had been waiting for.
Even though Stella had been returned to the shelter more than once before, this time around, something deep inside her convinced her that this would be her happy ending. As she bid her shelter family goodbye, she pictured all the adventures she’d partake in with her new family, all the spontaneous belly rubs she’d receive, and how cozy her bed would be. Little did Stella know she would be back at the shelter that very same day she left and that, once again, her heart would be shattered into the tiniest pieces.
Full of Life, But Misunderstood

Stella found herself back at the shelter minutes after being adopted, something no shelter dog deserves to experience. Even more heartbreaking is that Stella was again given up for the same reason her previous owners gave — her energy was “too much” to handle.
You see, Stella is just a puppy, and she doesn’t know how to be anything other than that. As long as she has the puppy energy in her, she’ll want to play, run, be extra goofy, and simply make the most out of life. Her previous owners expected her to be calm 24/7, yet no one tried to understand and guide her.
Stella is still growing, meaning she needs a patient owner to correct her and help her be the best version of herself. None of her previous owners took the time to see Stella for who she really was: a puppy with a heart as big as her energy. Instead, they gave up on her even before she could prove that she was worth keeping.
Will You Give Stella a Chance? She’s Counting on You

If you ask anyone at the shelter, they’ll tell you that Stella is a gem wrapped in fur. This gorgeous Shepherd mix is super friendly, has mastered basic commands like “sit” and “lay down,” is a fast learner, and is easy to train. Plus, Stella is crate-trained, housebroken, and has excellent leash manners. There’s nothing Stella wouldn’t do to make you happy; her eagerness to please is on a whole different level!
She’s the kind of dog who shows affection in the most raw manner — she will melt into your hands with every gentle touch and gaze at you with eyes full of love as you stroke her fur. Stella is always up for an adventure, making her the perfect fit for an active household. She lives like her sole purpose in life is to make your days as joyful as possible. Stella is too loving to not have someone to share with all that love she’s holding in her heart. If you wish to adopt Stella, learn more here.
