Loulou is a two-year-old Australian Cattle Dog x Australian Shepherd mix who was found as a stray in Texas. Loulou was found hiding under a porch but rescuers had no idea they weren’t just rescuing one dog. Loulou was pregnant, and they rescued her just in time for her to give birth somewhere where she and her puppies would be safe. Suppose Loulou hadn’t been found when she was, who knows what could have happened to her and her puppies? Giving birth outside and alone comes with lots of risks—if something had gone wrong, no one would have been able to help, and it’s uncertain whether Loulou or her puppies would have survived.

Still young, Loulou is just over 2 years old and is a large Australian Cattle Dog x Australian Shepherd mix. Loulou is moderately active and gets along well with other dogs. A little bit shy and nervous, Loulou likes to have company to help boost her confidence and would love a home with other dogs and/or kids to make her feel comfortable.
Although she really likes other dogs and humans, Loulou can get a little overwhelmed when there is too much energy and activity and sometimes needs a little break in her kennel. Loulou is also afraid of thunderstorms and gets carsick during car rides, but with some patience, she is learning to come out of her shell.
A major cuddle bug, Loulou is a sweet, gentle soul looking for a home that will allow her to open up at her own pace. Intelligent and a quick learner, Loulou is house-trained, has mastered her basic commands, and loves learning new tricks or going on walks.
