Huckleberry is a 10-year-old golden retriever who has his own ideas about how to live life right.
An intrepid explorer, Huckleberry learned how to jump onto the roof of his parents’ home from a spot in the backyard. Once on top of the house, Huckleberry surveys the neighborhood and refuses to come down unless his humans bribe him with toys or food. If doing whatever you want was a sport, Huckleberry would be the MVP!
While Huck’s family has accepted his quirks, the neighbors still haven’t quite gotten used to seeing a golden retriever on the roof. After countless knocks, phone calls, and messages from people letting them know (with good intentions) that there was a dog on their roof, Huckleberry’s family decided enough was enough.
No, they haven’t found a way to keep Huck from doing his thing on the roof, but they have come up with a way to reassure passersby that the dog is totally safe and that they know exactly what he’s up to…literally.
Huck’s mom put a sign outside! It reads: “Huckleberry is living up to his name and learned how to jump onto our roof from the backyard. We never leave him in the backyard without someone being at home. He will not jump off unless you entice him with food or a ball! We appreciate your concern but please do not knock on our door – we know he’s up there! But please feel free to take pictures of him and share with the world!”
Huck hasn’t gotten tired of standing on the roof yet! He sometimes spends all day up there, and his family says they can hear him clomping around the roof, especially when someone walks past and says ‘hi’ to him.
Where does Huck go to the bathroom? His owner has been wondering the same thing and think Huck’s rooftop bathroom habits is what is clogging up her drainage system! ?
