Rescued Pit Bull Waits 10 Months for a Loving Home—Is Marshmallow Becoming Invisible?
A young Pit Bull named Marshmallow endured a brutal start to 2024, abandoned and injured in a desolate parking lot. When AMA Animal Rescue responded to the January call, they found the 1-year-old dog bleeding and shivering in the cold, a deep gash etched across his forehead.
Rescue staff suspected the wound was caused by a sharp object likely due to an abusive past. Despite Marshmallow’s fearful condition, the team was committed to giving him a chance for a better future, determined to transform his story from one of hardship to hope.

The New York-based rescue provided Marshmallow with essential veterinary care and in a short time, the dog was back to his healthy self. At first, he was placed in a foster home to spend the winter months. But not long after that, he ended up without a home and is now on the rescue’s premises, spending his days in a crate.
An incredibly sweet dog, Marshmallow has a smile that is sure to win anyone’s heart who meets him. He was extremely affectionate with his foster family and always ready to play whenever they desired. In short, he is an easygoing dog who just wants to be loved.
Can You Open Your Heart And Home To Marshmallow?
Marshmallow may not bear visible scars from his dark past, but his behavior in the outside world still reveals traces of it. Going on walks is not easy for the dog as he gets scared of cars and anything that’s not familiar to him.
However, it’s nothing that dog owners with a little experience cannot manage. A little bit of leash training will go a long way in making Marshmallow the perfect canine companion for walks.
If you are considering becoming Marshmallow’s new parent, know that his favorite way to spend time with his humans is engaging in quiet and peaceful activities. Due to the canine being wary of new environments, it would be best if he is the only pet in the house.
Marshmallow has been waiting 10 months for someone to give him a second shot at a life filled with love and affection. Therefore, you’re more than welcome to give this gentle giant a forever home by filling out and submitting an adoption application. Alternatively, you can also foster him.
