Owner Wanted his Great Dane Puppy to be ‘Left in a Ditch’—But a Hero Gave Him a Second Chance
At the Save Rocky the Great Dane Rescue and Rehab (SRGDRR) in Bullard, Texas, there’s one particular puppy that’s captured the hearts of staff at the rescue. Not just because of his striking beauty, but also because of how resilient he’s proven to be.
Beckham is a Great Dane/Catahoula Leopard mix with a super gorgeous Merle coat. But underneath that stunning coat is a puppy who’s experienced enough suffering to last him a lifetime. Beckham was found in an abandoned house lying next to his deceased canine siblings. He had been left for dead by his previous owner, and were it not for the SRGDDR’s intervention, Beckham’s story would have ended on a heartbreaking note.
Sad Past Now Behind Him
According to the shelter, Beckham’s heartless owner wanted nothing to do with the poor puppy when he was contacted concerning him. He, in fact, suggested that Beckham deserved to be left in a ditch. Thankfully, the SRGDDR saw Beckham for the gem that he is and resolved to give him a better future.
