Little Girl Thought Her Dog Was Gone For Good, Then The Unexpected Happens On Her 12th Birthday
They say that sometimes, the simplest birthday gifts bring the biggest joys. This is what one little girl experienced recently on her 12th birthday after her family surprised her with the dog that she’d been fostering over the holidays.
This little girl had formed such a strong bond with the dog, Milton, during her fostering journey. When Milton returned to the shelter after the fostering period ended, this girl thought she’d never see him again. What she didn’t know was that her family was planning to officially adopt Milton. A Reaction Too Emotional to Forget
The video, posted on @majicallynews, first shows the little girl unwrapping a gift box. Inside is a dog tag bearing the name Milton, which she reads out loud before turning to her mom with a question she’ll live to remember.
“Is this just his name tag? ….what’s happening? Are we adopting Milton? Are we?” You can almost hear her heart racing as she asks this.
The moment her mom confirms that they’ve indeed adopted Milton, this little girl bursts into hearty sobs in a way her family hadn’t seen before. Her hand immediately flies to her mouth, as though trying to stop her cries from being too loud. Watching her stand up to hug and thank her mom with a tearful face says everything: She never thought a day would come when she’d be Milton’s forever best friend.
Watching her drop to her knees and sob heavily when she sees Milton infront of her is honestly so moving to witness. It’s also obvious that Milton, too, is excited to see his best friend again because his tail suddenly goes wild the moment he recognizes her. Let’s not even get started on his joyful barks. There’s also something touching about the way she hugs Milton so tightly, almost as though she fears he might vanish.
To others, this may simply look like another thoughtful birthday gift for a twelve-year-old. But to the little girl, this moment marked the beginning of priceless childhood memories with a dog that completely won her heart.
