Heartbreak as Dog Rescued from Abuse Finally Gets Adopted—Then Her New Family Gives Up on Her Too

Molly B has only ever known hardship. For two years, she endured relentless abuse at the hands of her owners, never knowing kindness or love. When the police finally rescued her, she wasn’t headed to safety—she was sent to a kill shelter, her future as uncertain as ever.

Now in the care of Linus & Friends Animal Rescue, Molly B is safe, but the scars of her past still linger. Despite everything, she’s holding onto hope that somewhere out there, the right family is waiting to show her the love she’s always deserved.

@linusrescue Molly B deserves to know love and safety.💔 A little about Molly… She is the sweetest little thing on 4 feet. She came in on abandonment/neglect charges through the sheriff's department. She’s potty trained and recently met the shelter cats and did great! She is submissive to people. Despite being abused, she has never tried to growl or bite. She arrived at the shelter terrified, but after being shown love by the staff is she is learning to trust again. Molly B is around 2 years old, medium sized and around 45 lbs. We have transportation to many east coast and some Midwest states. Contact us ASAP if you are interested in giving Molly the chance she deserves at a happy life. A Painful Rejection

While at the kill shelter, each passing day drew Molly B closer to her euthanization date. Thankfully, she found a family willing to give her a home for the rest of her life — or so she thought. Just a week after adopting her, Molly B’s new family decided they no longer wanted anything to do with her.

It’s a pity to imagine that Poor Molly B still faced rejection after all she had been through with her previous owners. While it’s unclear why her new family didn’t want her anymore, one thing is certain: Molly B deserved, and deserves, better.

Scared of the Human Hand

For a dog that repeatedly watched her previous owners raise their hands to beat her, Molly B isn’t the kind of pup who instantly accepts to be petted.

Even though she’s the sweetest girl, it’s not unusual for her to flinch and cower when someone stretches their hand to pet her. Molly B is simply a loving pup who’s yet to fully put the horrors of her past behind her. The only thing right now that will make this possible is for her to find a good home where she’ll experience the love and safety that she was denied her whole life.

Molly B Is Ready for a Fresh Start

Despite coming from an abusive background, Molly B’s gentle and sweet demeanor stands out. Staff at the rescue have done a great job showing her tender love and attention, and she’s no longer as terrified of humans as she was initially. Yes, Molly B is open to loving and trusting again — her ever-wagging tail says it all.

This 45-pound bundle of furry joy is potty trained and loves to please her humans. Her request is simple; she just wants to experience true love from the person she’ll give her whole heart to this time around.

Since she has resource-guarding tendencies, Molly B is better off in a home where she’s the only pet or with an experienced dog owner who’s handled a pup with an abusive history before. Molly B is eagerly waiting for you to give her a chance.

Editor’s Update: Good news — Molly B has found a loving home! If you had your heart set on adopting her, worry not; there are plenty of other sweet, adoptable pups wishing to go home with you. Check them out here and find your perfect match today!
