They aren’t troublemakers. They aren’t “broken dogs” or “too much to handle.” In fact, they have all the qualities people use to describe the perfect dog — sweet, loving, loyal, and well-behaved. Yet, their days at the shelter keep adding up. If you’ve been looking for a sign on whether you should take a chance on a shelter dog who’ll cherish you just as much as you’ll cherish them, then here it is.
Will you be the one to end their long wait at the shelter? A hearty thank you in advance!
1. Maddie

Nicknamed “Maddie the explorer,” this 2-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier Mix views every walk as a grand exploration contest. Maddie holds the belief that every day is an opportunity for her to put her nose to good use. And when it’s time to wind down, Maddie will teach you tips and tricks on how to snuggle like a pro. Maddie demonstrates her love for you by soaking your entire face with the most slobbery kisses. To adopt Maddie, learn more here.
2. Remi

6-year-old Remi was given up by her previous family because they were too busy for her. Remi is obsessed with sunbathing, chicken, and toys (specifically Kongs and rope toys). Be prepared, though, because you’re next on her list of things to obsess about. This playful American Staffordshire Terrier will give anything to have a forever family that won’t let her go at any point. To adopt Remi, learn more here.
3. Charles

3-year-old Charles is the kind of dog who makes heavy days feel lighter just by his presence alone. This affectionate Labrador Retriever mix lives for neck scratches, and he craves nothing more than to be someone’s beloved pet. He overflows with love and makes sure that all those around him feel it. To adopt Charles, learn more here.
4. Jayce

1-year-old Jayce is paws down the life of the party. This gorgeous American Staffordshire Terrier will keep you on your toes thanks to his active genes. Jayce believes he was put on earth to have fun, whether it’s accompanying his humans for an adventure, rolling endlessly on the grass, or splashing in muddy puddles. If you could use a little more excitement in your life, Jayce is the dog for you. To adopt Jayce, learn more here.
5. Arnold

Arnold is a 9-month-old Chinese Shar-Pei mix whose tail spins at full speed when he has a toy in his mouth. When Arnold isn’t engaged in a full-on battle with his blanket, he’s the sweetest pup who’ll make you feel like you’re the best thing to ever happen to him. To adopt Arnold, learn more here.
