Emotional Journey of a Blind French Bulldog Dreaming About a Fairytale Ending
Most people looking to adopt a dog want a cute companion to love, care for, and proudly show off to their neighbors and friends. But what happens to the dogs who aren’t the definition of cute and cuddly?
Debbie Darling is an adult Frenchie mix who is struggling to find someone to adopt her because she doesn’t have eyes. When Roadogs Rescue, a rescue in Southern California, found her at a shelter, Debbie was going through excruciating pain. She had glaucoma that had been neglected eventually leading to the loss of both her eyes to treat the disease. (watch the video below)
Sweet Girl Adjusting To New Life
Debbie has lost her eyes and the ability to see, but at least she is pain-free. At the rescue, she is slowly adjusting to being blind. Her disability has not stopped her from enjoying life, though. The sweet girl loves to go for long walks in the sun as she navigates with surprisingly great dexterity.
After seeing the video, many TikTok users have heaped compliments on the innocent soul. A realtor, Rosie Rumore, left a comment saying, “She’s precious.” Some even expressed the desire to adopt her. A user, wrote, “❤️❤️❤️❤️you can be a part of our dog family anytime. 😊.” On the other hand, Carlie commented, “I wish I can take her, unfortunately, I’m from Scotland. Such a precious and beautiful wee soul. I really hope she has a happy ending very soon. She deserves everything, and so does every animal💘”
Are You Right For Debbie?
All Debbie needs now is a fairy tale ending to her long journey filled with pain and heartbreak. Because of her condition, the Frenchie can understandably feel vulnerable sometimes. She needs a loving and patient home where she will feel safe and secure at all times.
For those of you thinking of adopting Debbie, you must know that presence of other dogs can make her defensive. So, it would be better for her if you don’t have any other dogs and even if you do, they are of a mild and submissive nature.
However, this doesn’t mean that Debbie isn’t a social dog. She loves being around humans and showering them with kisses.
Thus, if you think you’re the right person for her, go to Roadogs.org and bring an amazing girl into your home.
