One time he accidentally got let out and he ended up just going over to Iris’s house and going to her front door.

These dogs’ viral love story is making hearts melt.
Staci (Iris’s Parent):
Odie is obsessed with Iris in a good way. He wants to kiss her big flappy cheek constantly. They would run around, but as soon as she would stop running, he was just licking her cheeks and giving her kisses.
Marcella:
I mean you say her name and he gets so excited. Would we walk by her house and we’ll kind of cross the street and he’ll kind of tug on the leave like, Hey, let’s go over there.
Rocky:
They met the same day Iris’s best friend moved away, but both Staci and Marcella were worried that their dogs wouldn’t like each other.
Marcella:
We’ve lived close to each other for four years and the thing about Odie is that he’s kind of 50/50 when it comes to dogs. Some dogs, he gets along really well with others not so much and you never really know what his reaction is gonna be.
Staci:
I used to always see him outside, but at the time Iris had been attacked at a doggy daycare. She started becoming reactive on leash to other dogs and I had no idea how to handle it.
Rocky:
But then Odie and Iris met up during a walk and it was instant love.
Staci:
It was like they locked eyes, they smelt each other and then just went into instant play, Zoomy mode.
Marcella:
Odie didn’t care that he was a third of her size.
Staci:
She started looking out the window and when I would say his name, it was immediate. So then I would walk in front of their house on purpose and let Iris play.
Marcella:
He will stand out the window and watch out the window, out the field waiting for her. Since then, we see them almost every day out, either out in the field or over each other’s houses or things like that.
Rocky:
These two even send gifts and plan dates for each other sometimes entirely by surprise!
Marcella:
Half the time, we don’t tell each other what we’re gonna do when we get gifts like Odie’s big pillow that Iris got him the Dalmatian pillow. I had no clue about that. I got the matching collars the other day. So we do a lot of surprises with each other.
Staci:
And then she made the video of Odie outside with a little tuxedo collar and she picked a couple flowers. Then I saw it and I was like, “Honey, we have to go home. Odie’s in the field waiting for us and he’s got a tuxedo on… Get home”.
Rocky:
People online love watching their story, but to their humans, this bond means so much more.
Staci:
Is really amazing how we went from legitimately never meeting each other, aside from saying hello. Now I’ll just like go walk in their garage if they’re outside.
Marcella:
It’s been really fun for us to get closer and have that friendship grow in addition to our dogs. Cuz I think it would really stink if we did not get along and we didn’t like each other because we wouldn’t have the dogs see each other as much as they do.
Staci:
It brightens my day to see another dog, so happy to see another dog. Makes me think of back in the day, some young musician, Odie would be the young musician writing the song about the woman, and that would be Iris.
Rocky:
