Woody for Adoption

Woody is a 1 ½ year old Chihuahua mix who came into Animal Friends of the Valleys looking for his second chance at a forever family. Sadly, Woody lost his previous home through no fault of his own due to a landlord’s strict “no dogs” policy. The owner had one month to rehome him, however with no luck in finding a new home, the owner had to turn him into the shelter. Woody at the shelter has been lashing out due to unfamiliarity – Woody was used to a home with a consistent environment and person. Now, this sweet yet misunderstood boy is ready to bring a whole lot of love into a new home.

Woody already knows “sit,” “down,” and “stay.” He is also fully crate-trained and house-trained (using puppy pads). He does wonderful with children and is very friendly and playful around them. With other dogs, he might act a little scared at first, but he quickly warms up to be a playful (and sometimes delightfully bossy) friend. Cats are a bit too scary for him, so a feline-free home is best. Woody is a loyal boy who is protective of his house and can be wary of unfamiliar faces. He does not like loud environments (yelling) and is specifically fearful of men and strangers, so he will need a patient adopter who can give him the time and space he needs to feel safe. He is fully neutered and ready to go.
