This 4-year-old German Shepherd male is named Wang, which roughly translates to ‘king’ or ‘royal’ in Chinese. He came into the shelter over a year ago as an owner turn in and was separated from his brother, causing him to spiral into an anxiety ridden, ill-confident dog. It’s also believed that Wang was a backyard dog for most, if not all his life.
Despite his tough times, Wang has slowly learned that people can be good to him, and staff have been working with him to break him out of his shell. The staff note that once he gets past his nerves, he’s a big cuddle bug and overall sweet and lovable. He loves treats, is very loyal to those he trusts, and loves being called a good boy! However, the shelter environment is not ideal for a dog like Wang, and he needs a stable home to reach his full potential, and a year is far too long for any dog to have to wait at a shelter.
