Wall-E is a sweet boy who is looking for a very special family, because he is a special dog!
Wall-E was hit by a car 2 years before we got him and had not received any vet care following the incident. This unfortunately caused Wall-E to lose most of the use of his back legs. He is currently getting rehab treatment to try and help him get some strength back. Unfortunately because of how long ago the incident happened, it will make his rehab take longer, and be less effective than it might have been if started earlier. BUT he is definitely making progress!
Wall-E is good with people and will greet new people with the song of his people! He is also good with most other dogs (not a fan of large dogs). He has never met a kitty cat but we believe he would be okay with them too!
Due to his injuries Wall-E is incontinent. It is very easy to manually express his bladder, so diapers won’t always be necessary. His foster only has him in a diaper when they are gone at work for the day.
Wall-E’s adoption includes lots of goodies:
~ His wheelchair
~ A drag bag (for when he’s outside and not using his wheelchair)
~A bedside, bassinet (he likes to be close to you at night)
~ Washable diapers (6) and washable liners (10)
~ Disposable diapers (for adventures away from home or in between laundry days)
~ Cleansing wipes (needed for his back legs and feet) (100 minimum)
~ Some of the food he is currently eating; you can use it to transition him to your preferred brand or just to get you stared (we use Diamond Naturals).
~ Lots of toys! He loves them!
~ Dog Bed/Blankets
~ AT LEAST 2 rehab sessions
We are looking for a family with experience owning paralyzed/special needs dogs, or one willing to put in the work/time/patience. He needs someone who will continue working on his rehab. The rehabber will go over the simple exercises to do with him at home. He is a really sweet boy and worth it!
Please let us know if you have any questions!
PLEASE NOTE: We do require an adoption application be completed before meet and greets. We also require home visits before adoptions. A meet and greet can be done at your home and count as the home visit.
