Meet Walter, a sweet and soulful pup from Texas with a serious love for snuggles and companionship. This handsome little guy is the ultimate Velcro dog—he wants nothing more than to curl up in your lap, follow you from room to room, and soak up every bit of affection you’re willing to give.
Walter arrived with his sister and her puppy, forming the most adorable little family unit. He plays well with them and gets along beautifully with other foster dogs, including large breeds, making him a great fit for almost any household. He does experience a bit of anxiety when left alone outdoors, so a secure, loving home where he can stay close to his people would be ideal.

Walter is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm and is available through Ruff Start Rescue’s Foster-to-Adopt (FTA) program. During recovery, his activity will need to be restricted for a few weeks, and Ruff Start Rescue will cover the entire cost of treatment. Preventatives will be provided until retesting, and adopters will just need to schedule follow-ups with their own vet.
